Crossfire Maintenance and Modification

Here's a few models of the Chrysler Crossfire...

One of my other pastimes is collecting die cast vehicles.  Here's a few Crossfire models.

This is a line-up of the range of sizes I have.  The largest is an AM/FM/CD Alarm.  The rest are die cast models.

This is a nice set of four highly detailed models from Racing Champions in roughly 1/64-scale.  The silver one is quite common and sold in a couple different package schemes.  The other three are fairly uncommon.  Mine came as the four-car set you see here, packaged in small clear plastic boxes.

Ricko makes a number of nicely done HO-Scale models of the Crossfire in both coupe and roadster form.

Motor Max makes these budget priced 1/64-scale models.  The silver one is available at Toys 'R Us in their cheap die cast series.  It was also passed out at Toy Fair in a little box, with the Red Box imprint on the side (seen here).  I worked hard to track down the red and white ones elsewhere.

Two 1/50-scale models from DUB CITY.  Both nice models of how a Crossfire might look if narrowed and fit with some radical wheels...

These 1/43-scale models are from the Toy's 'R Us house brand.  They were each part of multi-car sets.  I suspect, like the other Motor Max Crossfires, there are blue, silver and red ones "out there" somewhere...  These are very nice though you must purchase the entire set to get the Crossfire...

New Ray makes a nice Crossfire model.  I was able to find them in Kay Bee Toys, Family Dollar, and on eBay.  The blue one cost me dearly because I failed to check the shipping amount and was billed $35 to have it shipped from Hong Kong.  That was totally unnecessary both because it doesn't cost that much to ship and because they are available in USA for less than $5.  Stupid is as stupid does...

This model is apparently available as a basic RC toy and as I found, a battery powered model.  It's not too bad though very toy-like.

Four different versions of the Motor Max 1/24-scale model.  The blue one is sold as a kit (Testors) or assembled (Motor Max); the others came to me assembled.  There is a black one as well that I got after making these images.

Another four Motor Max models.  This time in 1/18-scale.  These are very nice models and include a moving rear spoiler!  The engine detail is not as nice as the Maisto but could be improved by painting.  The interior is quite good.

Two of three Maisto 1/18-scale Crossfires that I have.  The third is red metallic and was overlooked during the photography because it is displayed elsewhere...

The coupe from Norev.  They also make a very fine roadster, like this in 1/43-scale.

And a car that I am sure many Crossfire owners would love to own and drive - the Mercedes McLaren SLR...1/50 scale by DUB CITY.
