Fort Necessity

Historical Interest

We took a drive to SW Pennsylvania to visit Fort Necessity.  We got a season pass to the complex of attractions centered around the fort, watched the movie about how the fort was established and its history, then walked the park.  It was a beautiful day to be out with no particular destination.  We started out with the fun illustrations outside the visitor center.

 

Then we took a walk to the fort exhibit.

The field held the fort and a nice view of the surrounding area.

Next we took a walk on the trail that goes around a hill-top field.

Near the edge of the field, a silver birch stood out.

The path through the field was nice with a view of the freshly budding trees.

Overall a nice day out!
