Fairchance
From here we turned
in to the trail and drove out to the first section that offered mud to
the mud-lovers. That's not be - I've had enough mud to last a
lifetime so I spent my time avoiding it. Others embraced it!

The next set of holes
were hard to figure - they had a bottom but it was about 10-15 inches of
water. Probably not a problem, but again I didn't feel like
tempting fate. A few of us went around but we had one taker!

Scattered Remains
Soon we reached the site of an abandoned Dupont plant,
said to be a TNT factory that blew up twice in its history, claiming
dozens of lives. There's nothing left to it today but ruins.
Tom and I visited the ruins on the other side of the road - ones we had
not seen before.
Someone spotted a huge insect nest.
The cache was must as we left it last time - complete
down to a car we left the first time visited!
On the way out we tempted the mud gods with some more fun
and mud...

White Rocks
Hollow
From here we doubled back and headed up to White Rock
Hollow. By accident, I took a different trail, one that I had not
taken before but had plotted on my map and GPS. So I got a chance
to see another section of trail and do a little exploring. Soon we
met the trail usually taken and not long after that, got to the rocks.
We stopped to look at the geocache and explore the rocks.
After re-exploring the cave and still not finding a piece
of the geocache puzzle, we returned to the Jeeps and drove back out to
the road. Along the way we got some pictures of washed-out
sections of the trail.
We made a quick stop at the church to regroup and then
headed back to Cheat Canyon for a trip down the Cheat...
Down the Cheat / Bee Run
I really like this trail. Even in spite of some
of the "events" I have attended at the bottom...
Epilogue
No snake bites. No twisted
ankles. No mud hole excursions (though one seriously considered it
until the winch was tested for possible use...)
We headed back up the long hill and drove back to the
BP station. I aired up and connected while we talked. A
great bunch of guys and a great day out!
