The winter blew by me and soon it was time to install the soft top for the summer.  I had just enough time to do so before leaving on business for a couple weeks.  I ended up spending a couple days on the garage clean up this time and resolve to get the garage into a state that I can just remove the roof rack, drive the Jeep in, raise the top, and drive out.  But this time I ended up doing a major clean-up and inventory (to plan out the garage storage) so the top swap took more or less all day...  To be fair the time spent actually swapping the top was about 15 minutes.  Digging out to get to the top stored was the major activity.

As usual, I removed the roof rack.  No big deal.  By now I have mastered the routine of emptying it of the spares and jack and flipping it back to stand against the side of the garage.  In between garage cleaning activities, I rolled the Jeep in and hoisted the hard top onto the storage frame.

This set-up continues to serve me well.  The load-rated nylon rope has not shown any sign of deterioration, and the hand-winch makes it all as easy as pie.  I could probably come up with a more elegant way of rigging the frame but like everything these days, it's all about getting some time to do it!

The parts for the hoist are shown above.  The frame is made out of pipe sections that are cheapest bought at a home store.

Installing the soft top was easy too.  The soft top disconnects are well worth the money I spent on them.

The top went right on.  The main job was done.  But as I do every spring, there are numerous touch-up activities.  This time I split the work over a few days because I had used up all my time cleaning the garage.  When I finally got done with the list of things I did, it was very extensive.  Here are some "before" shots of the Jeep.
